Measuring and closing the gap in safe, timely, and affordable surgical care across Indonesia.
The Global Surgery Center studies access to safe surgical, obstetric, and anaesthesia care across Indonesia, organised around the indicator frame of the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery. Its work links the surgical workforce, timely access to a facility capable of the three bellwether procedures, surgical volume, perioperative mortality, and financial protection into a single sub-national evidence base. The aim is to give national and district planners a comparable, reproducible picture of where surgical systems fall short and which populations are most exposed.
The center is led and staffed by the researchers below, working with academic and institutional collaborators.

The center works with provincial and district health offices, professional surgical and anaesthesia societies, and academic partners to validate indicators and translate findings into planning. Researchers, clinicians, and analysts interested in surgical-systems measurement are welcome to contact the center to discuss collaboration or fellowships.
